Cake is a highly tasty food. Men of all ages like it to eat. Similarly Vanilla Sponge Cake is also popular to all. Its ingredients and method of preparation are as follows:

  1. Grease a cake pot with butter. An oven proof bowl can be used too. Keep white and yellow portion of eggs in two bowls separately. Eggs are to be at room temperature. If those are in refrigerator should keep out for 2/3 hours to get at room temperature before use. White portion of eggs is to beat by an Electric Beater to make white foam like. It can be done by a Hand whisk too but time consuming.
  2. Mix butter at room temperature and sugar with yellow yolk of the eggs and add some vanilla essence. Then continue beating this mixture till sugar in it becomes fully soluble. Note with care that butter from refrigerator should keep out for 2/3 hours before use to get the same at room temperature. Now mix baking powder with flour suitably and add it to the mixture of yolk, sugar & butter. Intermix all these items properly by shaking through a spatula. Add half of the foamy white portion of eggs and mix thoroughly. Then add the remaining half of the same too and intermix through cut and fold process so that no lump of flour exists. It is wise to sift the flour by a sieve to drop out probable impurities and at the same time to get somewhat aerated too.
  3. If this batter of cake seems thickened in that case 1/2 tea spoonful milk can be added to moderate it. Cast this batter to the greased pot and make it equally distributed. In case of baking in ovenঃ The oven requires to get preheated at 185 degree celsius or 350 degree Fahrenheit temperature for baking purpose. But baking in flame: At first keep 100 gm salt in a big mouthed pot and another pot is to put in it so that the cake can be placed within this second pot. Covering the pot with lid preheat for 10 (ten) minute at high temperature. Now place the cake in the preheated pot covered with lid and bake for 40 to 45 minute at low temperature. After 40 minute check by pushing a toothpick into the cake and if it turn out clean; the cake has become ready. Take it out of the flame to make cool.
  4. Lift from the edges first and then bottom in soft hand. It can be served with a cup of tea, vanilla ice cream or alone.
  5. The spongy cake so prepared can also be used as Birth Day Cake by frosting butter cream on it.
